How It Works

Getting the care you need is simple with Medmate:

1. Request a Consultation: Begin by clicking the “Telehealth Consult” menu link or the “Get Started” button. You can also start by first selecting your condition.
2. Share Your Information: Tell us about your current symptoms, medical history, allergies, medications, and any other relevant health information. This helps our doctors understand your needs and prepare for your online medical consultation.
3. Provide Medicare Details (if applicable): This helps the clinic to confirm your identity and also to issue electronic prescriptions directly to your phone by SMS.
4. Review and Confirm: Take a moment to review your information and our Terms & Conditions. Once you’re ready, proceed to checkout and payment.
5. Choose a Call Time: Select a time that works best for you from the available appointment slots. We offer a range of options, including same-day appointments in many cases.
6. Wait for Confirmation: Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with all the details of your appointment.
7. Receive Your Call: At your scheduled time, a qualified Australian doctor will call you for your consultation. They will review your information, discuss your symptoms, and provide a diagnosis and treatment plan.
8. Get Your eScript or Medical Certificate (if needed): If your doctor prescribes medication or issues a medical certificate, you’ll receive it electronically via SMS and email for your convenience.

Telehealth Consultation Fees

Standard Consultations: Starting from $25
Priority Consultations (within 1 hour): Available at a higher fee, prices vary
Mental Health Psychology: $195 per 1 hour session (discounts may apply)

Additional Services

Prescription Renewals: From $20
Medical Certificates: $25 for 1-day certificates, and $35 for multi-day certificates
Weight Loss Program: From $299 per month

Bulk Billing and Medicare Rebates

Medicare rules mean that Medmate online consultations are billed privately. Medicare rebates are also not available for online consultations.

Appointment Availability

Medmate doctors are available 7 days a week – open everyday until 11pm. You can book same-day appointments, and our priority care option allows you to see a doctor within the hour for an additional fee.
